Picture Update

I finally had Lane download the pictures off the camera to the computer tonight. WOW! There were a lot of them. I really need to learn how to do that again! Things are going good at the Huseby house. We’ve been busy with the kids. And Lane has been working away in the basement. Jacob’s birthday is right around the corner. It’s hard to believe he’s going to be 8. We had his family birthday party this past weekend. I’ll post those pictures later this week. Hope you enjoy the pictures below.

MaKena got this robe at a baby shower and she finally
got to put it to use. Doesn't she look so cute in it?

We were watching for Daddy to come home. MaKena
just loves to look out the front window.
Waiting for daddy!
Oh, I think I see him coming!
Jacob staining a board at my mom's house. Don't you
just love his outfit. (My mom's shoes, gloves and shirt)

MaKena will put this toy in her mouth and breathe out
the little hole. I swear she gets goofier (is that a word?) every day!
Looks like we have a new Wii player in the house!
(Notice the radio behind her. She was playing with that first!)

Jacob swimming

Here is a video of Jacob swimming when we went to the cities the beginning of October. I know he’s not Michael Phelps but he sure has come a long way. He actually moves in the water! Before it looked like he was drowning! Hope you enjoy!

It’s November. It’s hard to believe Jacob will be 8 this month and Little Miss MaKena will be 1 next month. Where did the last year go? I remember last year at this time I was very pregnant and very uncomfortable and counting the days until my due date. And now the little person that was making me feel that way is crawling around my house and pulling everything off shelves and out of the cabinets. It’s crazy how fast it’s gone.
I’ve added some pictures from my cousins wedding the beginning of October. Jacob got to hand out bubbles after the wedding. He was so excited!!

Family Fun!

Last week Lane had a conference in the cities on Thursday and Friday so I decided to tag along with the kids for a little family get away. We took off Wednesday night and came back Friday afternoon. While Lane was in his meetings the kids and I relaxed in the hotel. Jacob went swimming most of Thursday and Friday morning before we left. Thursday afternoon I decided to see how MaKena would do in the water. She loves her baths so I was hoping she would love the pool. And she did. She splashed so much she got her hair all wet. It was cute. Thursday night Uncle Brec (Lane’s oldest brother) and Isabel (Brec’s 4 year old daughter) came to visit us. It was fun to see them. After they left Lane wanted to take MaKena swimming so we all headed back down to the pool. Once again she enjoyed the water. All and all it was a fun little trip. I’ve added some pictures of the kids swimming. I have video clips but I’ll have to add those later. Hope you enjoy!

Busy, busy, busy!

Boy have I been slacking. Sorry for the delay in updates. It’s hard to believe its October. Where did September go? We’ve been keeping ourselves busy that’s for sure. Jacob has been busy with soccer, school and boy scouts and MaKena…………well..……..she’s just busy. Lane and I have been busy with stuff around the house and chasing after the rug rats! We did manage to get the second bathroom painted a couple weekends ago. It’s nice to finally have color in one room. I’m sure we’ll splash some more color soon.

Little Miss MaKena had her 9 month doctor appointment on the 26th of September. When I say little I mean little! When the nurse put her on the scale I was shocked. She weighs a whopping 16 pounds 10 ounces (12%). Lane and I were guessing in the car before we got to her appointment. We weren’t even close. Lane said 18 pounds 6 ounces and I said 19 pounds and some odd ounces. I have to admit I was a little worried at first but her doctor said she’s fine. She’s just little! She was 27 inches long (28%) and her head was 47 cm (98%). MaKena has certainly kept us on our toes. She is crawling all over the place and now she has figured out how to pull herself up on everything she can. I have a feeling those little legs are going to figure out how to walk and off she’ll go. She hasn’t gotten any new teeth yet but I can tell that the top two have moved down in her gums. Hopefully they come soon. She’s also learned how to clap her hands and do “so big”. It’s so darn cute. I’ll have to try and get a video clip to show you. She’s getting smart, every time I take the camera out she comes crawling over to me. I think she has the same obsession as her big brother. She loves buttons!

Jacob just finished soccer for the fall. Their last game was supposed to be last Saturday but because of the rain it got cancelled. Jacob was bummed. So we wait until next spring for more soccer fun! Jacob joined boy scouts this year too. That’s been keeping him and Lane busy. After the first meeting I think Lane came home more excited than Jacob. It was priceless! Lane was teaching Jacob the special hand sign or whatever it’s called. Very funny! For boy scouts they have to sell popcorn. I’ve never seen a kid so excited to go out and sell something. Maybe he’ll be a salesman! School has been keeping Jacob very busy this year. He’s had a lot more homework this year. We’ve had to do lots of reading, math and spelling. So far he’s had one math test and another one coming up, a social studies test and several spelling test. So far he’s done very well on all of them. He’s a smart kid!

Hope you all enjoy the week/weekend. I’ve added some pictures. I’ll try to get some pictures of the house and post them soon. Along with some video clips of MaKena clapping and climbing.

We moved!

We moved! For those of you that do not know, we moved into our new house the 22nd of August. It’s so nice that it’s finally done! We started this process in May and at that time August seemed so far away. Boy was I wrong. The move went very well. We moved about 4 blocks from our twin home so it was a short trip back and forth which made the move that much easier. Our new address is 5515 Sunflower Lane S., Fargo, ND 58104. Please feel free to stop by anytime and visit. I’ll have to take some pictures and post them next time.

Some other exciting news, Jacob started 2nd grade on the 25th of August. He was ready for school start. It’s hard to believe the summer is over and we’re back into the school mode again. I forgot how much work it is to try and get Jacob to bed by 8 and up by 6:30. He’s usually a morning person but 6:30 is a little early for him. This year he catches the bus just down the street, I love it. I can see him walk to the bus stop from our front window. Last year he had to walk down a block and over. So far he is really enjoying school. They seem to be moving a little faster this year so I have a feeling we’ll have a little more homework than last year. The soccer season has also started. Jacob had his first practice on Monday and he looked really good. I think he is finally catching on to the game and he says he really likes playing. He keeps saying he’s going to score more goals this year. I sure hope he’s right. He has his first game this Saturday at 1:30 at Moorhead Tech fields if anyone is interested. Should be a good time!!

Little Miss MaKena is doing great. She is growing like a weed. She has mastered the crawling stage and loves it. She can get from her room all the way to the kitchen all on her own. Granted she gets distracted by the door stops on the wall but she eventually makes it. She loves to sit by the patio door and look out at daddy and bang away trying to get his attention. And boy is she babbling. Sometimes it’s non-stop. I have a feeling when she learns how to talk she is going to talk our ears off along with Jacob! She now has two teeth on the bottom and I think she is slowly working on more. She is a drooling mess some days but it’s cute. She’s trying to figure out how to pull herself up on the couch but I don’t think she has enough arm strength to get her little body up. But in time, I think she’ll master that too! I could talk all day about all the new things she’s doing and the new faces she’s making. She is so much fun. It seems like she is doing something new every day. I love it!! Our next doctor appointment with her is the end of the month. I’m excited, no shots. Gotta run, hope you enjoy the pictures.

I'm crawling!

MaKena's crawling. We took this video clip Sunday night. Where did my little baby go? I'll update more later. Hope you enjoy the clip! (OK, I know she's not going to break any records but she sure is moving more and more every day!)
