Trick or Treating at the Zoo

The weekend before Halloween the Red River Zoo had an event called Night Eyes (I think that's what it was called) and Trick-or-Treating around the zoo. In August Lane and I purchased a family membership that's good for a full year so we thought it would be fun to take the kids trick-or-treating at the zoo. The weather was cloudy and a little cool but the kids were bundled up and ready to get some candy. We stopped and looked at a few animals and then ventured into the carousel area for the costume contest. The kids didn't win but everyone go a prize. After the contest we had to take a ride on the carousel before heading back out to see the rest of the animals. The kids had a lot of fun. We'll have to look into doing it again next Halloween.

When we got to the zoo we stopped by to see the wolves first. They were howling non-stop. The kids thought it was cool. The last couple times we've been to the zoo the wolves were just laying in the grass sleeping so it was neat to actually see them awake.

Another picture of the wolves.
In the carousel area they had a couple craft tables set up. At this table the kids and I were tracing a bat to cut out.
A quick little photo of the two trick-or-treaters in their costumes.
Riding on the carousel.
