The Park

It’s been awhile since we’ve been to the park and I really miss it. The weather hasn’t been that great lately so we’ve been spending a lot of time inside. I’m really looking forward to some nice weather. The pictures below were taken a few weeks ago. I guess I was waiting for a rainy day to post them! Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and we can head back to the park for some outside fun.

On the way down, Lane decided to tie Jacob's shoe lace to the rope. Jacob thought it was funny! (Can you see it?)

Power Wheels

For Christmas, Lane and I gave MaKena a Barbie Four Wheeler Power Wheels. Up until recently she’s only driven it in the house because it wasn’t warm enough to take it outside. I finally put the stickers on it and brought it outside for her to try out in the driveway. She was so excited to have the stickers on it you would have thought she got a new toy with her reaction! When we brought it outside she drove it to Beth and Eric’s house (which is only 2 houses away) to play with Anna. Good thing it’s not very heavy because she made it half way and then decided she was done driving it so I had to carry it. She needs some help with the steering but for the most part she has it figured out. I think she feels like a big kid when she’s riding on it!

Watch out, here I come!

Mallorie's Birthday Party

The end of our fun sleepover weekend with Jen and Emma we helped Mallorie celebrate her 6th birthday at my mom’s. It was another beautiful day to be outside. The kids had a lot of fun running around and being loud. That’s the nice thing about moms, she has so much room for the kids to play outside and it’s relatively quiet in her neighborhood too. We let the kids burn off some energy and then we sang happy birthday to Mallorie and ate ice cream cake. It was delicious! It was a wonderful way to end a fun packed weekend!!

The Sleepover with Jen and Emma #3

On our walk to the park, MaKena and Emma talked each other’s ears off. Any puppy we saw they’d say “I see a puppy” and any bird MaKena heard she’d say “there’s the birdie.” I’m sure people on the next block over could hear our girls!! I don’t think we could walk fast enough for the girls. Once we got to the park they off and playing. And boy did they play hard. Of course the drama queen MaKena started to show. She didn’t want to share “her” Jacob with Emma. She wanted to slide down the slide with Jacob. So the tears started if Emma would get up the slide first. She’s very possessive of “her” Jacob. Just ask her who’s Jacob he really is and she’ll say “my Jacob” and correct you if you try to say he is yours. It’s cute. MaKena eventually stopped whining and got back to playing. But then she saw someone flying a kite and she decided she wanted the kite. Thankfully it was time to head home for lunch and nap. We had 2 little girls who needed a nap!

Walking/riding to the park.
Swinging, MaKena likes to sit in the big kid swing!
Emma loving the swing. She wanted Jen to push her higher!
All three kids swinging.
The girls getting ready to go down the slide.
Emma always put her hands up in the air when she went down the slide. It was cute!
More swinging. We love the swings!

This was probably the only time these three kids sat still at the park!
