Happy 12th Birthday Jacob!!

12 years ago today I became your mom.  As I sit here and think, I can't believe it's been 12 years.  You've grown up so fast.  It seems like yesterday I was teaching you how to walk and talk.  Now you are teaching me new things.  You've grown into such a nice young boy.  I am so proud of you and I'm proud to say I'm your mom.  You are such a smart, caring, loving, sweet and fun boy.  You will always be my baby boy.  Happy birthday my little sweetheart.  I hope you have the best birthday.  I love you to the moon and back buddy!

This picture was taken last year at Christmas.  Mom dug out our letterman's jackets and we all took a picture together.  Hopefully this year we'll have Justin in the picture!

Jacob's soccer

Jacob played soccer again this fall.  I'm so happy he's stuck with it this long!  I decided to coach his team.  I wasn't too impressed with the coach he had last year so I figured I could either complain about it or do something about it.  So I did something about it.  Honestly, I don't think I'll coach again!  I have a lot more respect for all those parents that do it year after year.  Its just not my thing!  But we had a good year.  We played 6 games and came out with a record of 2 - 4.  Not great but better than last year!  Jacob has really come a long way in soccer.  He's getting more aggressive each game.  I really enjoyed watching him grow this year.  I hope he sticks with it because I love watching him play.

Restaurant

One night the beginning of October, the 8th to be exact, the kids were playing in the basement.  I could hear them talking and giggling so I went downstairs to see what they were doing.  Here they had set up a drive thru and were playing restaurant.  I about died laughing.  How creative.  Jacob got his walkie talkies out and hooked up an old ear piece to them for the person in the restaurant taking the order.  The other walkie talkie was set up at the beginning for the person in the "car" to order with.  They even set up the play food and handed it out on a tray to the person in the car.  The best part was when MaKena got to be the person taking the order.  (I have a video of them playing, I'll have to try and load it so you can watch them playing restaurant.)  Lane and I got a good laugh while watching the kids.  It melts my heart when they get along so well.  I just love these two!

MaKena's last weekend of soccer

The last weekend in September was MaKena's last weekend of soccer.  It happened to be an extremely nice weekend which was nice.  We had 2 games on Saturday.  She did really well.  After the second game we got the 4 little neighbor kids together and took some fun pictures.  We sure had a lot of fun playing soccer this fall.  The coach we had was great and made practices and game a lot of fun for the kids.  Hopefully MaKena wants to play again next year.

Hanging out at Grandma Kathy's

WARNING: Picture overload!!  On Sunday, September 23rd we were invited out to my mom's for dinner.  Uncle Tom was in town for the weekend so mom scheduled to have Grandma Vivian join us for the day.  It was a nice fall day so spent it outside visiting and watching the kids play.  The kids played soccer and rode the power wheels.  Jacob and Mallorie hung out inside playing big kid stuff!  After dinner Lane and Jen took the little kids to the park to play.  We really needed to wear them out!  The afternoon went by fast and before we knew it it was time for Grandma to get ready to head back to the nursing home.  While we waited for her ride we all played out in the front yard.  Jen and the kids were playing grey duck which was funny to watch.  Then we kicked the soccer balls around and played keep away.  Before we knew it Grandma's ride was in the driveway.  We had a lot of fun visiting with the cousins, grandmas and Uncle Tom.  We can't wait until the next time.
