Professional Pics

The end of September we had our annual family pictures taken in downtown Fargo. (I just realized I never posted a few of my favorites.) We had 145 pictures to choose from which made it hard to pick just a couple favorites! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Decorating at Grandma Vivian's

The Monday after the kids' birthday party we headed over to the nursing home to visit Grandma Vivian and help decorate her room for Christmas. Mom had bought some window clings for the kids to stick on her window. The kids love sticking them on the windows so it was a fun little treat for them. And grandma enjoyed watching the kids have fun.

Birthday Party

This year we decided to do the kids birthday parties a little different. Instead of having 2 seperate parties around the busiest times of the year we decided to have a joint birthday party the beginning of December. I have to say it's the best idea I've had in a long time!! Everyone that lived in town was able to make it so we had a full house. The kids got spoiled rotten with a bunch of fun toys, clothes and movies. After the kids finished openning all their gifts we lit the candles on the cake and sang happy birthday. Poor MaKena was so confused. She kept thinking the day of her party was her birthday and she kept asking if she was 4. Once again both kids had a great birthday party!

Karlee Grace found the perfect spot on Papa Lonnie's lap to watch the gift openning. It was cute!

Grandma Kathy gave Jacob the movie Rio. Great movie!

GiGi (aka Grandma Ivy) gave MaKena a new hat, scarf and gloves for her birthday. She loves then and she looks so cute in them!

Decorating for Christmas

The Sunday after Thanksgiving I drug out all the Christmas decorations and the kids helped decorate the house for Christmas. They love to help decorate and I enjoy it too. We turned on the Christmas music and went to town. MaKena is finally old enough to be helpful and Jacob, well he could probably do it all himself if I let him! Its so much fun to watch the kids get excited about decorating. We couldn't get the tree up fast enough for MaKena! Once the tree was up she was all about putting the decorations on. The bottom half of the tree was loaded with ornaments so when she wasn't looking Jacob and I moved some of them up a little higher to make the tree look even! After we finished the tree we scattered the rest of the decorations around the house and cleaned up the mess. Now I just hope they are as helpful when it comes time putting them away!!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Huseby's at Ardis and Lonnie's house. Brec and Isabel came from the cities and the rest of us meet up around noon on Thursday. We ate turkey and all the fixings until we were stuffed full! Oh, but it was so good! The kids played all afternoon and night from upstairs to downstairs. They had fun. The Christmas wish lists were started and the shopping lists were made. The guys play a few hands of pinochle while the women turned on some kid shows for the kiddos. It was a fun family filled day!!

Hanging with Jen, Emma and Gunnar!

Over Veteran's Day Jen, Emma and Gunnar came to town and spent the night at our house. It had been awhile since we've had a slumber party with them and it was fun to have them stay. They came up Thursday night so the kids had all day Friday to play together. The girls played dress-up and wore princess outfits for part of the day, watched Jacob play the Wii and then we ventured outside to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. We didn't even need coats! It was a fun day spent with the cousins.
